Cocktail Recipe | The Boulevard des Charentes

Inspired by the classic Boulevardier cocktail, this simple and easy to remember recipe has quickly become a new staple at home. Wonder why? Try it and you will understand.

What do you do when you run out of one of the ingredients you need to make your favorite cocktail? You improvise!

This is exactly what I had to do when I realized (halfway through the process of making my Boulevardier) that I had no Vermouth left…  Awful right? Well, thankfully I had some leftover Pineau des Charentes in the fridge and decided to give it a try. The result: absolutely stunning!

While both the Campari and Breckenridge Whiskey ensure the retention of the traditional herbal and bitter aromas of a Boulevardier, the Pineau des Charentes brings an additional layer of complexity and sweetness to the drink which makes it even more balanced and smooth to the palate.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Breckenridge Whiskey
  • 1 oz Campari
  • 1 oz Pineau des Charentes Red

Instructions:

  • Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice and stir for 10-15 sec
  • Strain into an old fashioned glass over a large ice cube
  • Garnish with dehydrated lemon wheel

Cheers, and let me know your thoughts on this one !
